As reported by The Mirror, Richard Palmer, a royal expert, told them that the Duke of Sussex and the Duchess of Sussex “essentially got what they wanted, which is to be half in, half out of royal life.” According to the expert, it might put their reunion with King Charles this summer at risk.
In the meantime, Richard Palmer told the news outlet, “What Harry said about his childhood and the past didn’t come close to what was said in the Netflix series.” The royal expert continued, “And in his autobiography Spare.” By this, the expert was referring to the Duke of Sussex’s recent speech in Melbourne, during the four-day Australia tour. The person then explained, “But that isn’t where the problem lies.”
The royal expert then told the news outlet, “The monarchy is all about public service, not private gain.” Richard Palmer continued, “And non-working royals who are as high-profile as Harry and Meghan appearing to cash in on their royal status.” The royal expert then added that it “attracts uncomfortable attention for the palace.”
The person continued that Prince Harry and Meghan Markle do not receive funds “by the taxpayer or officially representing the UK.” The royal expert further said, “But they were doing similar things to the royals on their quasi-royal tour.” Richard Palmer explained, “And appear to be earning money from doing it.” “This is what has raised concerns with the palace,” added the expert.
