Reality Tea Awards 2025: Most Shocking Reality TV Moment of the Year

The New Year is approaching, which means it’s time for our annual Reality Tea Awards. For this list, we’ll be discussing the most jaw dropping reality TV moments of 2025. There was a plethora of iconic moments to choose from, which made crowning a winner a tough task.

The Reality Tea staff voted on what we believe was the most shocking moment of the year, and came up with four nominees, along with a winner. Let us know what you think of our picks in the comments!

Nominee: Garcelle Beauvais walks out of the RHOBH reunion

Garcelle Beauvais’ reign on Real Housewives of Beverly Hills is over. She announced her departure from the series in a March 2025 Instagram post, telling fans she wants to focus on other projects. Garcelle’s announcement wasn’t a total shock to fans who witnessed her pulling away from the group on Season 14. The tension came to a head at the reunion, causing Garcelle to leave the stage prematurely. During Part III, she told producers “I’m out,” leaving the venue before the cast photo.

Nominee: Jax Taylor goes to rehab

Jax Taylor was in the habit of making headlines when Season 2 of The Valley was airing. The Vanderpump Rules alum returned to Bravo determined to show viewers he was no longer the bad boy bartender. He tried to play the role of the family man in Season 1, but it didn’t take long for fans to see the cracks. By Season 2, Jax’s life was unraveling. In one scene, his wife, Brittany Cartwright, begs him to get help, accusing him of having a problem with cocaine. Jax checked himself into a treatment facility shortly after.

Nominee: Paige DeSorbo and Craig Conover’s breakup

Paige DeSorbo and Craig Conover were once the golden couple of Bravo, but 2025 unearthed some skeletons in the seemingly perfect couple’s closet. Season 9 of Summer House put a spotlight on the couple’s issues, mainly their mismatched fantasies about the future. Paige wanted to prioritize her career, which conflicted with Craig’s desire to settle down in Charleston and start a family. In an episode of the Summer House After Show, Paige shared that she felt pressure to hide her career success from Craig.

“I loved him so much that I tolerated too much,” she revealed. “Now that I’m out of it, I look back on things and I’m like ‘Oh, wait, any time I had a career milestone he found a way to like make it about him.”

Nominee: Brynn Whitfield and Ubah Hassan’s massive RHONY fight

We all know Bravo fans love drama, but the Season 15 finale of Real Housewives of New York was too much for many viewers. Ubah Hassan and Brynn Whitfield got in a heated argument that ended with a shocking reveal and a defamatory accusation. In the heat of the moment, Brynn shared she was sexually assaulted and she confided in Ubah about the incident. The comment deeply hurt Ubah, who insisted she had no knowledge of the assault. It was a truly shocking moment that left viewers stunned and uncomfortable.

Winner: Julia Lemigova claims she slept with co-star Adriana de Moura at the RHOM reunion

In Part I of the Real Housewives of Miami Season 7 reunion, Julia Lemigova dropped the ultimate bombshell when she revealed she and co-star Adriana de Moura allegedly slept together. The comment arose during a conversation about their fractured friendship. Adriana alleged that the rift was due to Julia’s changing personality. Julia, in an attempt to defend herself, shared that she and Adriana had a supposedly romantic moment in the Hamptons.

“I would like to say something that I think would bring clarity hopefully, why we are where we are,” she said. “In the Hamptons, Adriana and I slept together.”

Adriana fought back against the comment, saying, “I never scissored anybody.”

Julia remained steadfast in her claim, telling Andy Cohen backstage, “We slept together once, then we fooled around in the Versace mansion.”

The Reality Tea Awards has never felt so scandalous!
